BRISBANE, Australia (Sept. 16) - With less than
12 hours to recover from its previous game, a fatigued Seattle
Pacific University men's basketball team was beaten 130-95 by the
Brisbane Bullets of the first division National Basketball League
Tuesday morning in the Falcons' fifth and final game of the
international tour.
Dustin Bremerman (Fr., 6-4, Yakima,
Wa./Eisenhower) topped SPU with 23 points and both Jordan Lee
(Jr., 6-2, University Place, Wa./Life Christian) and Jason Chivers
(Jr., 6-8, Palmdale, Ca.) added 20 points apiece.
SPU had defeated the Southwest Pirates 122-67
Monday night but with only seven players available and Brisbane
opting to play 12-minute quarters rather than 10, the Falcons
wilted. The Bullets led 63-46 at halftime and maintained at least
a 15-point spread the rest of the way.
Lee finished as the team's top scorer on the
tour, averaging 23.2 points as Seattle Pacific went 3-2. Chivers
averaged 19.2 points and 13.4 rebounds.
The Falcons return home Thursday. The 2003-04
season begins at home Nov. 21 against Saint Leo of Florida.
