Falcon Women's Soccer Team Drops Montana State Billings
September 15, 2003

SEATTLE, Wa. (Sept. 15)—Megan Lienhard netted a pair of goals and assists as Seattle Pacific University dropped Montana State Billings 5-0, in a non-conference women’s soccer match Monday afternoon at Interbay Stadium.

The victory marked the final match of a three game home stand and was the tenth straight win for Seattle Pacific (6-1-0) on its home turf. The last time the Falcons lost at home was September 25, 2002, and SPU out-scored its visitors 18-1 on its three game home stand.

Lienhard (So., Everett, Wa./Cascade) opened up the scoring at 1:58, finishing a Michelle Sanders (Jr., Centralia, Wa.) cross to the right post. Michelle Everson (So., Tacoma, Wa./Stadium) was also credited with an assist on the play.

Lienhard assisted on the next score at 23:14, an eight yard volley from the foot of midfielder Shannon Lovejoy (So., Seattle, Wa./Seattle Prep.) and also followed up on Sarah Melby’s (Jr., Mukilteo, Wa./Kamiak/Idaho) missed shot off the cross bar for the third Falcon strike at 60:51.

Lienhard assisted on the fourth score as well, as Allison Teague (So., Redmond, Wa./Bellevue Christian/Santa Clara) finished to the left post from eight yards out.

Heidi Jacobson (So., Kirkland, Wa./Cedar Park Christian/Gonzaga) capped the scoring at 5-0 at the 71-minute mark with Teague’s assistance.

Seattle Pacific out shot the Yellowjackets (2-3-1) 26-2 and earned 10 corner kicks to Billings’ 1.

Yellowjacket keepers Alyssa Wolfer and Megan Plank combined in goal for 10 saves and the Falcons’ Jennifer Hull (Jr., Eugene, Or./Sheldon) and Erin Pierce (So., Milwaukie, Or./Rex Putnam) saved a pair. Hull registered her fourth shutout of the season.

The Falcons take to the road next week for a pair of matches. The first contest is a conference counter at Humboldt State and the second, a match up with the California Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Chico State. Kickoffs are scheduled for four and seven o’clock, respectively.
