SURFERS PARADISE, Australia (Sept. 15) - Behind
the combined 51 points from Jordan Lee and Dustin Bremerman,
Seattle Pacific University won its third consecutive game on its
Australian tour, defeating the Southwest Pirates 122-67 Monday
night in a men's basketball exhibition.
Lee (Jr., 6-2, University Place, Wa./Life
Christian) scored 30 points and Bremerman (Fr., 6-4, Yakima,
Wa./Eisenhower 21 as the Falcons pulled away by outscoring the
second division Pirates 34-16 in the second quarter.
Jeff Knudson (So., 6-7, Mukilteo, Wa./Kamiak)
and Chris Cohen (Sr., 6-8, Saint Helens. Or) each had 18 points
while Tony Binetti (So., 6-1, Enumclaw, Wa.) totaled 16. Jason
Chivers (Jr., 6-8, Palmdale, Ca.), who was plagued by foul
trouble, finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Cohen, with 14
boards, helped give SPU an overwhelming 60-18 advantage in
rebounds with 15, and
All three victories have come against second
division teams. The junket concludes Tuesday morning against the
first division Brisbane Bullets. Seattle Pacific returns home
Thursday.
