NEWCASTLE, Australia (Sept. 10) - Jordan Lee
poured in 31 points and Jason Chivers added 22 plus 18 rebounds as
the Seattle Pacific University men's basketball team coasted to a
108-53 exhibition win over the Newcastle Hunters Wednesday night
at the Broadmeadows Basketball Stadium.
Lee (Jr., 6-2, University Place, Wa.) excelled
in the running game and hitting from the outside while Chivers
(Jr., 6-8, Palmdale, Ca.) powered inside. Jeff Knudson (So., 6-7,
Mukilteo, Wa./Kamiak) had 16 points for SPU, which led 49-25 at
halftime and is now 1-1 on its five-game tour.
Seattle Pacific coach Jeff Hironaka said his
team shot the ball extremely well and exploited the Hunters in
transition. Newcastle is a member of the Australian Basketball
Association's Waratah League, essentially a second division
professional circuit.
The Falcons next face the Grafton Vikings
Thursday night.
