SEATTLE (Sept. 9) - James Ward of Seattle Pacific University was named the men's soccer player of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference after making seven saves in the Falcons' 1-0 loss to No. 9-ranked Cal State Bakersfield Saturday.

Ward (Jr., Salem, Or./Sprague) held the Roadrunners scoreless until the 107th minute. He has allowed only two goals in the past two games although SPU remains winless (0-4-0) going into Thursday's GNAC opener at Humboldt State.
