Complete Box Score

CARSON, Calif. (Sept. 1) -- Missing its head coach and one of its top forwards, Seattle Pacific University succumbed 3-2 to Chico Stateon a late goal in the second round of the Far West Classic Monday at Toro Stadium.

The Falcons (0-2-0) got goals from Jeremy Yerkes (Jr., Gresham, Or.) and Nick Letts (So., Dublin, Ca.) but gave up two goals in the final 27 minutes, including the game-winner by Chris Wondolowski--his second goal of the game--with 6:27 remaining.

Coach Cliff McCrath and junior striker David Smith--each serving a one-match suspension after being issued red cards in Saturday's loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills--both sat in the stands during the match.

Following a 9th-minute strike from Wondolowski, Yerkes tied the game at 1-1 less than five minutes later from Sean Sandin's (Jr., Renton, Wa./Kentridge) assist. Three seconds into the second half, Letts met a Ross Vaillancourt cross at the far post for a 2-1 lead.
