Falcons Complete Four-Match Sweep at Canyon Court Volleyball Classic

PHOENIX (Aug. 30) – Chelsey Myers (So., Minden, Nv./Douglas) slammed 28 kills to in two more victories for the Seattle Pacific University women’s volleyball team Saturday at the Canyon Court Classic. The Falcons topped Westmont 30-24, 30-25, 24-30, 30-25 and Western New Mexico 31-29, 30-28, 30-19 to complete a flawless four-match tournament.

Myers recorded 14 kills in each match while setter Jenna Van Moos (Fr., Stanwood, Wa./Stanwood) added 35 and 28 assists in the two matches. Van Moos landed five service aces in the second match versus Western New Mexico while Myers added three.

Defensively, Andrea Pennington (Sr., Bellingham, Wa./Whatcom CC) led the way for the Falcons in the first match with 17 digs followed by Erin Donovan (Fr., Shoreline, Wa./Blanchet) in the second with 17 of her own. Myers and Van Moos also made their mark defensively, each recording 14 digs in the first match of the day.

The Falcons make their first appearance of the season at Brougham Pavilion next weekend at the SPU/Comfort Suites Classic.
