PHOENIX (Aug. 29) – Chelsey Myers (So., Minden, Nv./Douglas) slammed 20 kills in the second of two victories for the Seattle Pacific University women’s volleyball team Friday at the Canyon Court Classic. The Falcons topped Western New Mexico 30-22, 13-30, 30-23, 31-29 and host Grand Canyon 30-24, 28-30, 22-30, 30-20, 15-8.

In the Falcons (2-0) night cap match against Grand Canyon (1-1), Myers recorded a .419 hitting percentage with just two errors on 43 attempts. Setter Jenna Van Moos (Fr., Stanwood, Wa./Stanwood) served up 48 assists. Defensively, Andrea Pennington (Sr., Bellingham, Wa./Whatcom CC) and Myers combined for 29 digs with Pennington’s 15 leading the way. Jessica Bauder (Jr., Richland, Wa./Col. Basin CC) also got in on the action wit 17 kills.

Bauder hit 13 kills in the second match of the day against Western New Mexico (1-1). Van Moos notched 28 assists. Van Moos finished the day with five aces to lead the Falcons at the line.

The Falcons are back in action tomorrow with matches against Westmont and Western New Mexico
