SEATTLE (May 28) - Kye Taylor, a past member of
Canada's Under-23 national team, has signed a scholarship
agreement to play soccer at Seattle Pacific University beginning
this fall.
Taylor, a 5-foot-11 midfielder/defender, is
transferring from Coastal Carolina, where he played as a freshman
last fall. He graduated from Max Cameron School in Powell River,
B.C., in 2002.
Taylor, who played for Canada in youth
international series both in Central America and Germany, is the
second recruit signed by Coach Cliff McCrath. Mike Morris of
Seattle's Bishop Blanchet High School signed earlier this month.
SPU, a five-time NCAA Division II champion,
returns eight starters from a team which went 11-6-2 last season.
It has qualified for the playoffs 28 times while posting 32
consecutive winning seasons.
