Highline Thrower Signs With Falcons Women's Track and Field
May 19, 2003

SEATTLE (May 19) - Molly Hornbuckle, one of the state's top javelin throwers from Burien's Highline High School, has signed a national letter of intent to compete in track & field for Seattle Pacific University.

Hornbuckle won the Seamount League title in the javelin last week and earlier this month took first place at the Lake Washington Invitational with a throw of 132 feet. She qualified for the state 3A meet as a junior.

Her coach, Jerry Bamburg, was an All-America runner at Seattle Pacific in the late Sixties.

Seattle Pacific has won three conference titles in the past four years and competes in the NCAA Division II Championships beginning Thursday in Edwardsville, Ill.
