SEATTLE (May 12) - Mike Morris, the top scorer
for Bishop Blanchet High School, has signed a national letter of
intent to play soccer at Seattle Pacific University beginning this
fall.
Morris, a 5-foot-7 midfielder, has scored 19
goals and added 11 assists in 16 games for Blanchet this spring.
The Braves are 13-1-2 and resume play later this week in the Metro
League tournament semifinals.
A resident of Bothell, he was a member of the
regional Olympic Development Program pool in 2001 and played on
the state ODP team since 1999. Morris is the captain of the
Crossfire Sounders, state champions in 2000 and '01 under Alan
Hinton.
Morris is the first recruit signed by Coach
Cliff McCrath. SPU, a five-time NCAA Division II champion, returns
