PHILADELPHIA (May 9) - Both the men's varsity pair and women's lightweight four crew advanced to the next round of the Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuykill River Friday.

The women easily won their heat and now move into Saturday's grand final. Without going into a sprint, SPU finished nearly 10 seconds ahead of Long Beach State. The Falcons, who drew lane 3, will face Carnegie Mellon (Pa.), UC Santa Barbara, La Salle (Pa.), Long Beach State and George Mason (Va.).

The men moved into a semifinal by taking third behind St. Thomas and Michigan.

The women's varsity four will row at the ECAC National Invitational Championship Sunday in Camden, N.J.
