SEATTLE (Apr. 18) - Jessica Bauder, a junior
college All-America outside for Columbia Basin College, has signed
a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Seattle Pacific
University.
Bauder, a 5-foot-9 sophomore, led Pasco's
Columbia Basin to a 36-8 record and fifth place in the Northwest
Athletic Association of Community Colleges championships. She
averaged 3.98 kills, 4.64 digs and 0.89 service aces last fall.
Bauder was selected first team all-NWAACC and second team
All-America (AVCA).
In high school, Bauder was a four-year starter
at Richland (1995-98). She also lettered in track & field.
Bauder becomes the fifth recruit to sign at
Seattle Pacific.
She joins setter Tiffany Butac of Hawaii
Baptist and middle Shelby Gihring of Kentlake, who signed earlier
this week, and fall signings Jenna Von Moos of Stanwood and
Whitney Dibble of Reno's Galena High.
Seattle Pacific head coach Kellie Ryan has
taken her teams to the NCAA Division II tournament two of the past
three seasons.
