SEATTLE (Apr 12) Seattle Pacific
University gets top times for both mens and womens
varsity four races at Saturdays Covered Bridge Regatta in
Eugene, Oregon.
Made up of a throw-together of
novice and varsity crews, SPUs mens varsity light
prevailed by 21 seconds in the mens varsity four race.
Varsity four women still remain undefeated, moving to 4-0 for the
season. A Falcon lightweight crew also took first in the womens
JV race.
Due to thunderstorms, the races were delayed
until conditions subsided. To fit all of the events in, all races
except for womens varsity four had their courses shortened
from 2000 meters to 1500. The hectic schedule change did not allow
SPUs mens novice four to make the race in time, while
womens novice did not race due to injuries.
This upcoming weekend the Falcons will travel
to Eureka, California for the Blue Heron Redwood Sprints.
