First Places for All Competing Falcon Crews at Covered Bridge Regatta

SEATTLE (Apr 12) – Seattle Pacific University gets top times for both men’s and women’s varsity four races at Saturday’s Covered Bridge Regatta in Eugene, Oregon.

Made up of a “throw-together” of novice and varsity crews, SPU’s men’s varsity light prevailed by 21 seconds in the men’s varsity four race. Varsity four women still remain undefeated, moving to 4-0 for the season. A Falcon lightweight crew also took first in the women’s JV race.

Due to thunderstorms, the races were delayed until conditions subsided. To fit all of the events in, all races except for women’s varsity four had their courses shortened from 2000 meters to 1500. The hectic schedule change did not allow SPU’s men’s novice four to make the race in time, while women’s novice did not race due to injuries.

This upcoming weekend the Falcons will travel to Eureka, California for the Blue Heron Redwood Sprints.
