CHENEY, Wa. (Apr. 11)Sarah Kraybill
doubled to win the 800 and 1500 and Dianna Grossglass won the high
jump at the 32nd annual Pelleur Invitational track & field
meet Friday evening at Woodward Field.
Kraybill (Sr., Ballard, Wa.) was clocked at a
speedy 4:39.71 in the 1500 and a 2:16.94 in the 800 to win both
and complete a rare double. The senior from Ballard has already
met NCAA Division II provisional standards in both events in 2003.
Teammate Grossglass (Fr., LaConner, Wa.) leapt 5-5 to finish on
top amongst 14 competitors in the high jump.
Danielle Ayers-Stamper (Fr., LaCrosse, Wa.)
notched a pair of second place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles
and the high jump. The freshman managed a second place finish in
the high jump, clearing 5-5, but ending behind Grossglass based on
number of misses. Ayers-Stamper stepped the hurdles in a 14.75 to
end the race just behind Montanas Suzanne Krings (14.39).
Jean Kolb (Fr., Eugene, Or.) placed second in
the 200 meters with a 26.92 and Kelly Gleason (Fr., Salem, Or.)
ran fifth in the 400-meter hurdles. The freshman was clocked in
107.14.
On the mens side, Micah Kellcy (Sr.,
Lakewood, Wa.) bolted to third place in the 400-meter hurdles. The
senior ran 55.38. Tim LeCount (So., Battle Ground, Wa.) posted a
4:08.02 in the 1500 to finish fifth.
The 4 x 400 meter relay combination of Kellcy,
Scott Van Hess (Sr., Salem, Or.), Chris Randolph (Fr., Lone Tree,
Co.) and Paul Mach (Jr., Seattle, Wa.) ran a 3:20.89, second place
finish.
Seattle Pacific races next April 19, at the
Spike Arlt Invitational in Ellensburg.
