April 7, 2003

SEATTLE (Apr. 7) -- Danielle Ayers-Stamper, whose three wins led Seattle Pacific University to win its fourth straight Vernacchia Team Classic, was selected as the female track & field co-athlete of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

It's the second such honor for Ayers-Stamper (Fr., LaCrosse, Wa.) this season. She was named the outstanding female athlete of the Vernacchia meet, as she won the long jump (17 feet, 7 1Z?2 inches) and the 100-meter hurdles (15.02 seconds) and shared first in the high jump (5-3).

Ayers-Stamper was also runner-up in the shot put with a personal-best heave of 37-6 3/4 and third in the javelin (121-10), accounting for 43 points in all.

Seattle Pacific resumes competition Friday at the Pelluer Invitational in Cheney, Wa.
