SACRAMENTO (Mar. 22) -- Sarah Kraybill of
Seattle Pacific University earned a national provisional
qualifying mark and finished second in the 1500 meter run at the
Stan Wright Invitational Saturday.
Kraybill (Sr., Seattle, Wa./Ballard), resuming
outdoor racing after taking fourth in the NCAA Division II indoor
800 a week ago, improved her personal best by over 11 seconds, to
4 minutes, 40.22 seconds. The Falcons' Josie Lavin (So.,
Bremerton, Wa.) was third in a PR of 4:42.37. Melanie Cleland
finished first in 4:27.27.
Kraybill, the team's first first outdoor
provisional qualifier, also came back to run the 400 dash in a
near-PR of 57.81, placing third.
Jamie Witt (So., Folsom, Ca.) got the lone SPU
win in the women's 5000 with a time of 17:57.03.
Other highlights for Seattle Pacific included a
long jump of 18 feet, 3 1/2 inches by Danielle Ayers-Stamper (Fr.,
LaCrosse, Wa.) and a PR of 54.92 by Micah Kellcy (Sr., Lakewood,
Wa./Clover Park) in the men's 400 hurdles.
At the Oregon Preview in Eugene, Paul Mach was
third in the 400 hurdles in 53.94. |
