No. 1 SPU Women Among Three Top-25 Teams in West Regional
March 12, 2003

SEATTLE (Mar. 12) -- To-ranked Seattle Pacific University is among three nationally-ranked women's basketball teams in this weekend's NCAA Division II West Regional at Brougham Pavilion.

The undefeated Falcons (27-0) hold the top spot in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll for the fifth week in a row. They open postseason play Friday night against Chico State.

Two other top-25 teams are featured in the other half of the eight-team regional bracket. Cal State Bakersfield is No. 5 in the nation and Western Washington is No. 24. If those two teams win their respective opening games they will meet in the regional semifinals.
