SEATTLE (Feb. 26) - Doris Heritage of Seattle
Pacific University will serve as head coach of the United States
women's national team at the IAAF World Cross Country
Championships, March 29-30 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Heritage, herself a five-time world champion,
is the SPU men's and women's head coach of cross country and
assistant coach for track & field. This is her third stint as
national team coach for the world championships and her first
since 1993.
The U.S. team was determined earlier this month
at the trials in Houston. Deena Drossin leads the squad, having
won her sixth American long course title. Drossin took the silver
medal and the Americans were second overall at the 2002 world
championships in Ireland.
