SEATTLE (Feb. 24) -- Jesse Keely of Seattle
Pacific University was selected as Great Northwest Athletic
Conference co-player of the week in men's basketball after coming
off the bench to lead the Falcons to a pair of vital home
victories.
Keely (Sr., 6-7, Fircrest, Wa./Bellarmine)
totaled 38 points and 18 rebounds in a 113-108 quadruple overtime
victory over Humboldt State and an 86-844win over Western Oregon.
Against the No. 3-ranked Lumberjacks, he had a career-high 22
points, including seven in the third and fourth overtimes, and
also contributed 11 rebounds and four steals. He then scored a
team-high 16 points, connecting on 10 of 10 free throws, against
Western Oregon.
Sharing the award was Alaska Fairbanks guard
Steve Towne (Sr., Bothell, Wa.).
Seattle Pacific (10-4, 14-9) resumes play
Thursday night at Northwest Nazarene.
