SEATTLE (Feb. 10) -- Seattle Pacific University
star forward Yusef Aziz was selected as men's basketball co-player
of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference after
scoring 28 points in the Falcons' comeback victory at Western
Washington.
Aziz (Sr., 6-4, Seattle, Wa./Foster-Highline
CC) scored 19 of his 28 points in the second half to spark an
80-72 victory, the team's third in a row and sixth in the last
seven games. Aziz scored 11 points during a decisive 20-6 run in
which the Falcons went from six down to an eight-point lead in the
final nine minutes. He tied a school record by hitting all 12 of
his free throws and was eight of 12 from the floor. He also had
seven rebounds and three steals.
Sharing the award with Aziz was Western
Oregon's Sean Kelly.
Seattle Pacific (8-2, 12-7) resumes play
Thursday at Alaska Fairbanks. |
