SEATTLE, Wa. (Feb. 7)-Carly Dockendorf and
Molly Seaman combined for a three first place finishes on the
uneven bars, floor exercise and balance beam as the University of
Washington beat Seattle Pacific University 194.550 to 189.950 in a
women's dual gymnastics meet Friday night at Brougham Pavilion.
Dockendorf nailed the landing on her uneven
bars routine during the Huskies' initial rotation to earn a
career-high 9.950. The sophomore, along with Seaman, negotiated
the balance beam to a 9.825 tie. Seaman capped the night with a
9.775 floor exercise performance, .25 ahead of the nearest Falcon
competitor.
Seattle Pacific's team tally was the highest of
2003 and the Falcons performed season high team marks on bars
(48.100) and floor (47.550) as well. Rachael Anderson (Sr.,
Yakima, Wa.) and Annastasia Ahr (Jr., San Antonio, Tx.) tumbled
the Seattle Pacific's top individual finishes on the night. The
pair landed slightly behind Seaman for second and third on floor
exercise with 9.750 and 9.725, respectively.
Corrie McDaniel (So., Lawrence, Ks.) finished
ahead of teammate Cynthia Reed for top honors in the all-around
competition. McDaniel's final tally of 38.125 was a season high
mark.
The Falcons travel to the Bay Area to take on
San Jose State and reigning USA Gymnastics National Champion Air
Force on Feb. 14. Saturday (Feb. 15), Seattle Pacific duals with
UC Davis.
