SPU Women Hold at No. 2 for 3rd Week in a Row

SEATTLE (Jan. 15) -- For the third week in a row Seattle Pacific University is No. 2 among women's basketball teams in NCAA Division II. The unbeaten Falcons (13-0) remain behind South Dakota State (14-0), which received 24 of 25 first-place votes in the coaches poll conducted by USA Today/ESPN.

As expected, there was a shakeup in the top five, with California (Pa.)and Washburn (Ks.) moving up and North Dakota State falling one slot to No. 5 after a home loss to South Dakota State. South Dakota State hosts No. 12 South Dakota Friday night.

Other West Region teams among this week's top 25 are Cal State Bakersfield at No. 11 and Western Washington at No. 17.

Seattle Pacific resumes action Saturday at Central Washington and visits Western Washington Jan. 23.
