SEATTLE (Jan. 2) -- After spending all of
December on the road, both the Seattle Pacific University men's
and women's basketball teams return to Brougham Pavilion this
weekend to begin home stands.
The Falcon men, now 5-4 after losing three in a
row before Christmas, will host the eighth annual Oak Harbor
Freight Lines Holiday Classic beginning Friday night to open a
five-game home stand. They face UC Santa Cruz (0-11) at 7 p.m.
while Seattle University (6-3) plays Montana's Rocky Mountain
College (11-3), winners of nine in a row, at 5. On Saturday,
Seattle U. plays Santa Cruz at 2 and SPU faces Rocky Mountain at
7.
Ranked No. 2 in the nation among NCAA Division
II programs, the undefeated Seattle Pacific women (10-0) return
home to play Lewis-Clark State (10-4) Saturday at 5 p.m. The
Falcons have matched their best start ever while the Warriors are
No. 16 in NAIA. SPU plays twice more at the pavilion when Great
Northwest Athletic Conference play resumes next week.
