SEATTLE (Dec. 30) -- Michelle Beaumont of
Seattle Pacific University was named the women's basketball
co-player of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference
after breaking the single game scoring record.
In two games, Beaumont (5-11, So.,
Bellingham/Sehome) scored 41 points (12-20 FGs, 4-7
three-pointers, 13-14 FTs), including 35 against Cal State L.A.,
as the No. 2-ranked Falcons remained unbeaten in 10 games.
Beaumont's 35-pint effort ranks No. 8 all-time at Seattle Pacific
and it broke the old GNAC record of 33 points set by teammate
Kelley Berglund last season.
SPU resumes play Saturday at 5 when it hosts
Lewis-Clark State in a non-conference game.
Sharing the player of the week award with
Beaumont was Martina Kartikova of Saint Martin's. |
