SEATTLE (Dec. 9) -- Jason Chivers of Seattle Pacific University has been selected as men's basketball player of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference for his role in a pair of conference road wins.

Chivers (So., 6-8, Palmdale, Ca./Highland HS-LA Trade Tech JC) connected on 9 of 10 field goals, scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half and grabbed 12 rebounds in an 81-71 victory at Central Washington. The transfer center also had 10 points in a 76-53 win at Saint Martin's.

The Falcons (2-0, 5-1) resume play next Monday against Missouri Western at the River City Shootout in San Antonio.
