KIRKLAND, WA. (Nov. 27) -- Stephanie Urrutia
(Sr., 5-9, Sunnyside, Wa./Sunnyside) led six players in
double-figures with 17 points as the Seattle Pacific University
women's basketball team beat Northwest College 110-50 Wednesday
night. The Falcons are currently ranked No. 15 in the USA
Today/WBCA national poll. SPU's 110 points is the second-highest
total in program history.
The Falcons (3-0) shot 56 percent from the
floor on 44-for-80 shooting and outrebounded the Eagles (1-5) 46
to 27. Freshman Brittney Kroon (Fr., 6-4, Wasila, Ak./Wasila) led
SPU on the glass with a career-high eight rebounds and Carli Smith
(Fr., Spokane,
Wa./Valley Christian) scored a career-best 16
points off the bench. On defense, Mandy Wood (Fr., 5-6, Port
Angeles, Wa./Port Angeles) led the Falcons with a career-best four
steals.
SPU hosts the Falcon Classic Nov. 29-30 at
Brougham Pavilion. The tourney tips off Friday at 5 p.m. The
Falcons face Westmont College at 7 p.m.
