ARCATA, CA. (Nov. 9) -- Monica Herrera (Jr.,
Lima, Peru/Mercy College) slammed a team-high 19 kills to lead the
Seattle Pacific University volleyball team in a comeback victory
over Humboldt State University 22-30, 28-30, 30-25, 30-27, 19- 17
Saturday night in Arcata, Calif. The Falcons victory is their
third straight and their second straight five-game comeback win.
The Falcons (8-9, 9-15) rallied from a
two-games-to-none deficit, a 12-8 Jacks (3-12, 5-18) lead in game
five and fended off two match points to wrap up their second
straight comeback victory in three nights.
Carri Colvin (Sr., Vancouver, Wa./Praire) was
just behind Herrera with 18 kills, while Kathleen Monda (So.,
Woodinville, Wa./Washington State) and Andra Taylor (Jr., Camas,
Wa./Mt. Hood CC) added 11 and 10, respectively. Colvin added a
team-best three service aces and Andrea Pennington (Jr.,
Bellingham, Wa./Whatcom CC) led the Falcons on defense with 21
digs. Katy Higgins (Jr., Kirkland, Wa./Redmond) recorded 52
assists.

at Western Washington in Bellingham, Wa.
