SEATTLE (Nov. 6) -- A total of 11 Seattle
Pacific University soccer players - six men and five women - have
been named to the 2002 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Soccer
Academic all-star team.
Michael Schefter (Jr., Yakima, Wa./West Valley)
was a repeat selection for the men while Cory Janzen (Sr.,
Langley, B.C./Lynden Christian) made it for the second time and
his first since 2000.
The Falcons led all GNAC team with their six
selections. All five SPU women's selections were first-time
recipients.
To be eligible for the academic team,
student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20
and be in at least their second year of competition at their
university.
