Falcons Fall in Final Game to Northwest Nazarene
October 3, 2002

NAMPA, ID. (Oct. 3) - Monica Herrera (Jr., Lima, Peru/Mercy College) slammed a season-high 30 kills as the Seattle Pacific University volleyball team fell, 22- 30, 30-23, 30-27, 30-32, 17-15, to Northwest Nazarene University Thursday night at Montgomery Fieldhouse in Nampa, Idaho.

The Falcons (2-4, 3-10) rallied from a two-games-to-one deficit to record a victory in game four and force a decisive fifth stanza with the Crusaders (4-2, 8-6). SPU held a 13-11 lead in the final game before NNU rallied back to even the game and seal the game and match victory.

Andrea Pennington (Jr., Bellingham/Whatcom CC) led the Falcons on defense with 22 digs while Andra Taylor (Jr., Camas, Wa./Mt. Hood CC) recorded a career-high six blocks. The Falcons recorded a .205 attacking percentage, marking the fourth time in the last five games SPU reached that plateau.

The Falcons return to Seattle Saturday to play red-hot crosstown rival Seattle University. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Seattle U's Connolly Center.
