SEATTLE (Sept. 9) -- Seattle Pacific University senior Nathanael Castle (Sr., Gooding, Id.) has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference male cross country runner of the week after finishing second at the season-opening Emerald City Invitational.

Castle led the 8000-meter race briefly and finished in 26 minutes, 2.4 seconds--an improvement of 43 seconds over his previous best on the Lower Woodland Park course. Todd Arnold of Washington won in 25:46.7. Castle was the only non-Division I harrier among the top seven finishers.

Castle and three teammates will run in the Fresno State Invitational Saturday morning.
