ARCATA, Ca. (Sept. 7)-Humboldt State University
scored three times in all, dropping Seattle Pacific University
3-0, in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer
opener Saturday evening at Redwood Bowl. The Lumberjacks got goals
from Juliana Goldstein, Gabby Ahmadia and Julie Jo AyerWilliams,
and out shot the Falcons 11-8. Seattle Pacific finished with a 5-3
edge in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Jennifer Hull (So., Eugene,
Or./Sheldon) registered six saves in the match.
The Falcons (0-2-1) tied San Francisco State on
Wednesday night, and hope to kick off their home season with a win
against Whitworth College on September 10.
The Whitworth match kicks off at 7PM, and has
been coined "guaranteed win night," by Falcon coach
Bobby Bruch. If the Falcons don't win, fans will receive a ticket
for a free cookie, redeemable at the concession stand during the
next home game (Sept. 16 vs. Notre Dame de Namur).
