SEATTLE (Aug. 28) -- Seattle Pacific University
graded out as the top men's program and overall the Falcons
finished third in the 2001-02 Great Northwest Athletic Conference
All-Sports team academic awards.
In the men's competition, SPU finished first
with 61 points, seven points ahead of Seattle University, the
overall winner. The Redhawks netted 139 points in the competition
to finish 11 points ahead of Northwest Nazarene. SPU finished
third with 119 points.
Points were awarded in each of the 10-team
conference's 12 sports based on the composite grade point averages
of the athletes on the team roster. Seattle Pacific finished with
the best team grade-point averages in men's soccer and basketball.

Men: Football - Central Washington
2.89; Cross Country - Alaska Fairbanks 3.65; Soccer - Seattle
Pacific 2.99; Basketball - Seattle Pacific and Northwest Nazarene
3.12; Baseball - Saint Martin's 3.19; Track & Field - Seattle
3.30.
Women: Volleyball - Central Washington 3.40; Cross Country
