SEATTLE (May 30) -- Jordan Beede, a three-time
all-Northwest League selection at Bellingham's Squalicum High
School, will play men's basketball for Seattle Pacific University
next season.
As a senior Beede, a 6-foot-1 point guard,
averaged 21 points and 6.0 assists for the Storm, who came within
one game of making the state 3A tournament for the second year in
a row. He was later chosen to play in the state all-star game.
Seattle Pacific finished 24-5 last season,
earning a share of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title
and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division II
tournament. Jeff Hironaka, the associate head coach for 11 years,
is the Falcons' new head coach for 2002-03.
