SEATTLE (May 16) -- Trisha Sawatzky of the Seattle Pacific University women's rowing team has been voted to the Verizon Academic All-District VIII at-large team by CoSIDA.

Sawatzky (Sr., Federal Way, Wa./Decatur), a biochemistry major with a 3.79 grade point average, teamed with Kimberly Tschetter (Sr., Sioux Falls, SD) to win a national championship in the pairs competition last week at the Dad Vail Regatta. Earlier, Sawatzky had been named to the all-region team. She and Tschetter finished the season unbeaten at 7-0.

Members of the Verizon team are now eligible for the Academic All-America team, to be announced next month.
