SEATTLE (May 15) -- Seattle Pacific University
finished as the runner-up to Western Washington in the Great
Northwest Athletic Conference all-sports competition for 2001-02
and in combined men's and women's standings the Falcons finished
third.
Western won four conference championships while
SPU claimed two outright or shared titles: men's basketball,
women's track & field. The Vikings won the women's competition
94-73 and edged Central Washington in the men's standings, 66-53.
Points were awarded for order of finish in each
GNAC sport, with values dependent upon the number of teams
participating in those championships.
