PHILADELPHIA (May 8) -- Seattle Pacific
University's three crews have arrived and received their heat and
lane assignments for the 64th annual Dad Vail Regatta, which
begins Friday on the Schuykill River.
The Falcons' first boat on the water will be
the unbeaten women's novice four, which drew lane 2 and will face
Fordham, Carnegie Mellon and North Carolina State. The top two
finishers advance to one of three semifinals to be held Saturday.
In the women's lightweight four, SPU is in lane
5 and pitted against Central Florida, Tennessee-Chattanooga, New
York U., Amherst and Duquesne with the top two crews moving to
Saturday's grand final.
Seattle Pacific's final race, at 1:23 p.m. PDT
Friday is the varsity pair. That heat includes Central Florida,
Iona, Washington Univ., Penn State and Mary Washington and the top
two go to the grand final.
