SEATTLE (Apr. 10) -- Chelsey Myers, the league
player of the year for Douglas High School in Minden, NV, has
signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball at Seattle
Pacific University.
Myers, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, was a
two-time all-Sierra League selection and led Douglas to an 18-1
record last fall. The Tigers were Nevada state runners-up in 2000
and third last season.
Seattle Pacific is coming off a 20-8 record and
its second straight trip to the NCAA Division II tournament under
Coach Kellie Ryan. The Falcons lost four starters and last week
announced the signing of Kathleen Monda, a transfer from
Washington State.
