SEATTLE (Apr. 3) -- Kathleen Monda, formerly an all-KingCo volleyball player at Woodinville High School, will transfer from Washington State to Seattle Pacific University next fall. She has signed a scholarship agreement after obtaining her release from WSU.

Monda, a 5-foot-11 outside hitter, played in three matches for the Cougars as a freshman. She is eligible to play for the Falcons as a sophomore in 2002. In Monda's final two prep seasons, Woodinville went 52-7 overall and were undefeated in league play.

SPU Coach Kellie Ryan said Monda will compete for a starting position. The Falcons are coming off back-to-back NCAA Division II tournament appearances but lost four starters from the squad which went 20-8 last season.
