TACOMA (Mar. 30) -- Seattle Pacific University
extended its women's varsity and novice four unbeaten strings on
American Lake to five regattas over three seasons Saturday at the
Daffodil Cup crew races.
The Falcons prevailed in seven of the eight
races in which they participated, including all five women's
entries. SPU defeated Western Washington's split eight by just
over a boat-length in the women's varsity four and the lightweight
four finished ahead of Puget Sound by a similar margin. The novice
four had plenty of open water on Willamette in that race.
Neither the women's varsity nor novice four has
lost on American Lake since March of 2000.
For the men, the Seattle Pacific light four won
by a little more than two lengths over Western.
Rowing resumes next Saturday with the Husky
Invitational through the Montlake Cut.
