SEATTLE (Mar. 20) -- Cory Janzen, a two-time
all-conference midfielder, has confirmed that he will return to
the Seattle Pacific University men's soccer team for his final
season next fall, Coach Cliff McCrath said Wednesday.
Janzen (Sr., Langley, B.C./Lynden Christian)
elected to leave the team on the eve of the 2001 season, citing
physical fatigue. He had started 62 of 63 games in his first three
seasons, scoring 15 goals and adding seven assists over that span.
Janzen is the lone holdover from the 1998 team which advanced to
the NCAA Division II Final Four.
Seattle Pacific was 10-8-1 last season and nine
of 11 starters are expected to return. McCrath has signed two
recruits, two-time prep All-America midfielder Ross Vailllancourt
of Manchester, N.H., and forward Any Willis of Gig Harbor.
