SEATTLE (Mar. 4) -- Yusef Aziz, the top scorer for Seattle Pacific University's playoff-bound men's basketball team, has been named NCAA Division II first team all-West Region by a vote of sports information directors.

Aziz (Jr., Seattle, Wa./Foster-Highline CC) is the 19th SPU player to earn the distinction and the first since Donte Quinine in 2000. His name will now be included on the Daktronics All-America ballot.

Aziz was joined on the first team by Humboldt State's Austin Nichols and Fred Hooks, Ramel Curry of Cal State Bakersfield and Bobbie Burries from Cal State San Bernardino.
