SEATTLE (Feb. 25) -- Going into the final week
prior to the playoffs, Seattle Pacific University has returned to
the top 10 of NCAA Division II men's basketball and will host the
No. 5 team in Saturday night's regular season finale.
The Falcons (14-2, 22-3), winners in seven of
the last eight, bounced three places, up to No. 9. They host No. 5
Humboldt State (15-1, 24-1) in a game which will likely determine
the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship Saturday at 7
in Brougham Pavilion.
Defending national champion Kentucky Wesleyan
retained the No. 1 spot for the fourth week in a row, followed by
Northeastern State (Ok.) and Cal State San Bernardino. The top
five teams in the Division II Bulletin coaches poll, including
Humboldt, each have only one loss.
