SEATTLE (Feb. 15) -- Oak Harbor's Katy Nydam
became the fifth women's soccer recruit to sign a national letter
of intent with Seattle Pacific University for next fall.
Nydam was a three-time all-Wesco selection for
Oak Harbor, making the first team as a forward-midfielder last
fall. She graduates as the school's No. 2 career scoring leader
and set a new season record for assists with 11 and also scored 20
goals as a senior.
Nydam plays for the Marysville Force of the
state premier league. A teammate from that club, Megan Lienhard
from Everett's Cascade, signed with SPU earlier in the week.
Also signed this week by Coach Bobby Bruch were
Julie Bosa (Holy Names), Shannon Lovejoy (Seattle Prep) and Jean
Kolb (South Eugene, Or.). Seattle Pacific finished its inaugural
season with a record of 8-10-1.
