SEATTLE (Feb. 12) -- Shannon Lovejoy, the top
scorer for Seattle Prep the past two seasons, has signed a
national letter of intent to play soccer for Seattle Pacific
University next fall.
Lovejoy, the first recruit for Coach Bobby
Bruch during the offseason, helped lead the Panthers to a 15-7
record and fourth place in the state 3A playoffs last fall. She
was a three-year starter at center midfield and also played
basketball for Prep. Lovejoy also paced her club, the Stellarz, in
goals and assists for two seasons and was a member of the state
Olympic Development Program.
Seattle Pacific finished its first season of
play with an 8-10-1 record in 2001. The Falcons took fourth in the
Great Northwest Athletic Conference. |
