SAN JOSE, Ca.-Alison Siegel-McAfee tumbled a
9.8 on floor exercise en route to a third place finish in the all
around competition as Seattle Pacific University scored a season
high 191.400 in a women's gymnastics meet at San Jose State
Saturday night.
Host San Jose State won the three-way meet with
a 193.050, edging Boise State (192.050) and the Falcons.
Siegel-McAfee (Sr., Oakland, Ca.) posted an
impressive 38.500 total in the all-around competition, finishing
less than a point behind San Jose State's Dani Albright. Albright
won top honors in the four-event contest, with a final score of
39.200.
Corrie McDaniel (Fr., Lawrence, Ks.) flipped a
team-high 9.850 on floor exercise for the top score by an SPU
athlete on the night while Siegel-McAfee and Annastasia Ahr (So.,
San Antonio, Tx.) were close at the freshman's heels with a pair
of 9.750's.
Jennifer Christman (So., Fairfield, Ca.) swung
a 9.750 on the uneven bars for Seattle Pacific.
The Falcons' total was the first time since
opening night on January 18, that the team tally tipped the scale
over 190 points.
Seattle Pacific has a week's rest before it
returns to its home mats for a meet against Sacramento State on
February 22. Official start time is scheduled for 7:00.
