Falcon Gymnasts Fly to Season High in San Jose
February 8, 2002

SAN JOSE, Ca.-Alison Siegel-McAfee tumbled a 9.8 on floor exercise en route to a third place finish in the all around competition as Seattle Pacific University scored a season high 191.400 in a women's gymnastics meet at San Jose State Saturday night.

Host San Jose State won the three-way meet with a 193.050, edging Boise State (192.050) and the Falcons.

Siegel-McAfee (Sr., Oakland, Ca.) posted an impressive 38.500 total in the all-around competition, finishing less than a point behind San Jose State's Dani Albright. Albright won top honors in the four-event contest, with a final score of 39.200.

Corrie McDaniel (Fr., Lawrence, Ks.) flipped a team-high 9.850 on floor exercise for the top score by an SPU athlete on the night while Siegel-McAfee and Annastasia Ahr (So., San Antonio, Tx.) were close at the freshman's heels with a pair of 9.750's.

Jennifer Christman (So., Fairfield, Ca.) swung a 9.750 on the uneven bars for Seattle Pacific.

The Falcons' total was the first time since opening night on January 18, that the team tally tipped the scale over 190 points.

Seattle Pacific has a week's rest before it returns to its home mats for a meet against Sacramento State on February 22. Official start time is scheduled for 7:00.

FINAL: 1, SJSU 193.050; 2, BSU 192.050; 3, SPU 191.400.
