In the 1000-meter run, Ross (Sr., Kennewick, Wa.) led a pack of four Falcons who finished among the top five, finishing first in 2 minutes, 58.53 seconds. Sarah Kraybill (Jr., Seattle, Wa./Ballard was third in 3:02.94 and Josie Lavin (Fr., Bremerton, Wa./Bremerton) was fourth in 3:04.32. Ross had won the mile in her first race Jan. 12.

Pole-vaulter Ally Studer (So., Redmond, Wa./Redmond), who, like Ross, had met a provisional indoor standard in that meet, improved her season-best mark to 11-5 3/4, good for fourth place.

Besides Ross, the other SPU wins came from Stephanie Huffman (Sr., Brush Prairie, Wa./Prairie) in the long jump (17-2 3/4) and the women's 1600 relay (4:04.06). Huffman stayed busy, competing in five events. She was also second in the 60 hurdles (9.47) and tied for third in the high jump (5-1).
