SEATTLE (Jan. 7) -- With its winning streak at
12 games, Seattle Pacific University has risen to No. 10 in this
week's NCAA Division II men's basketball rankings. The Falcons,
who host Western Washington in a Great Northwest Athletic
Conference game Saturday night at 7, equaled their highest ranking
since finishing the 2000 season at No. 10.
Undefeated Humboldt State, at No. 12, is the
only other GNAC team in the rankings, compiled by the Division II
Bulletin. Cal State San Bernardino is No. 2 overall. Northeastern
State (Ok.) took over at No. 1, replacing defending national
champion Kentucky Wesleyan.
