SEATTLE (Dec. 17) -- After scoring 40 points in a pair of tournament victories in Las Vegas over the weekend, Seattle Pacific University's Yusef Aziz has been selected as men's basketball co-player of the week by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Aziz (Jr., 6-4, Seattle, Wa./Foster-Highline CC) scored four of the game's final five points in the Falcons' 68-63 victory over No. 8 Henderson State Saturday night at the High Desert Classic in Las Vegas. His layup with 35 seconds remaining gave SPU the lead for good. He finished with 25 points on 9-11 shooting and added 15 points in Sunday's 76-63 win over Ashland (Oh.).
