SEATTLE (Nov. 29) -- Hurdler Linda Blake of
Richland (Wa.) and sprinter Jean Kolb of Eugene (Or.) have signed
national letters of intent to compete in track & field for
Seattle Pacific University after completing their respective high
school careers.
Blake finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles
at the state 4A championships last spring and also qualified for
the 300 hurdles. She is projected to be a candidate for the
heptathlon at Seattle Pacific, said Coach Jack Hoyt. Blake attends
classes at Liberty Christian High School, where she is senior
class valedictorian. She competes in athletics for Richland High
School.
Kolb qualified for the Oregon state 4A meet in
both the 100 and 200 and plans on running the 400 next spring. She
is also an excellent prospect in soccer.
Seattle Pacific finished ninth in the 2001 NCAA
Division II Championships and is two-time defending conference
champion in women's track & field. |
